"My philosophy is simple: knock the knees
out of the Crown's case, don't hold anything in reserve, advance every
defence, and do so with style and respect."

Biography
I
was born and raised in
Toronto but have travelled extensively and studied in Toronto,
Montreal and Kingston. I graduated in law from Queen's University in
Kingston and then worked for one year under Michelle Fuerst and Alan
Gold here in Toronto. Both were senior
criminal lawyers with broad trial and appellate practices.
I also obtained a degree in
literature and philosophy from Concordia University
in Montreal.
In 2000, I was
called to the bar and then established my own practice dealing
exclusively with criminal law. From the start, I defended persons
charged with a wide variety of offences, from drug trafficking to
homicide to fraud. Since 2000, I have conducted numerous jury trials,
constitutional challenges, trials and appeals.
I also keep current in caselaw by always reviewing new cases on evidence, the Charter of Rights and
Freedoms, criminal procedure, and complex forensic issues
like DNA. Some of my research has been published in "For the Defence",
a bi-monthly magazine published by the Ontario Criminal Lawyers'
Association.
In March of 2003, I
moved my practice to a law chambers located at 96 Spadina Avenue, suite
501, in the heart of Toronto's professional district near King Street.
I share offices with other criminal lawyers who share the same values.
When needed, I have a pool of talent to use or consult with.
The heart of my
practice focuses on cases such as alleged conspiracies, fraud,
serious allegations for individual clients such as murder and robbery,
drug trafficking, and Charter rights
such as the right to privacy,
the right to be free from arbitrary detention, challenging search
warrants, and standing up for individuals' most esssential and basic
freedoms. Furthermore, I have a significant appellate
practice.
